Game 2 - On a beautiful evening that was highlighted in the first game by an excellent example of sportsmanship on the part of Redi's Scott Goldade, E&H won out over a very good Copper Coulee Casino team. The CCC players scored 11 runs on 20 hits highlighted on offence by a 4/4 night for Andy Stroh and a 2 run homer by Glen Stodolka. Andy also contributed on defense with two outstanding plays supported by a great catch in the outfield by Tim McInnis. On the visitors side of the diamond the Lutz brothers each went 4/4 with Keith hitting a 2 run homer in the 3rd. In the 5th inning, Jim Fink bore down and held our opposition scoreless for the final three innings. Thanks to the Stewart Optical Guys for umping and running the concession. This writer found out tonight that the secret to Chad Stahl's great cooking is to enjoy a Diet Pepsi or 3 while you are cooking. 😁

Game 3 - Mikes meats scored a hard fought victory over the Red Sox in a see saw affair that ended 16-14. After going up 6 runs in the 7th the Meateors saw the Red Sox score four of their own before a game save double play by Kelly Martin. Ron Stubbs was 4 for 4 with a couple of doubles for the winners. Jim Dulle got he win. Beautiful night for ball. Thanks to sub Dan Stevenson

July 5:
Game 1 - The first game of the night saw the Red Sox score 13 runs on 24 hits. Derry Eresman and Tim Mayer each batting 1.000. On defense Darrell Maser contributed to his team's cause with a very fine catch in RC field. The  Astros, for their part, scored 18 runs on 22 hits. 6 of those runs came on HR's from Keith Lutz, brother Kelly and Keith Kleckner. Every player in the lineup collected at least one hit over the course of the game. Jim Fink pitched a stellar game issuing zero walks and keeping the Sox very fine hitters from going yard.

Game 2 - Was it redemption from an earlier loss to the Mavs? Was it the luck of the draw? Was it a full moon? No that was 2 nights ago. Was it because the team manager for the Mavs that just got off the plane from Newfoundland and was still high on screech and just returning from a 2 game suspension? Who knows, but the “Slowpitch gods” work in mysterious ways. The Sauer RV Storage Lakers pounded out 24 hits in a 19-3 win over the Morrison Mavericks. The Lakers seemed to find the seams in the outfield at will while everything the Mavs hit were right at a Laker defender. As you can guess the “Jekyll & Hyde” Lakers had many players with multiply hit games. The real winners of the night were once again the kitchen staff from Stewart Optical with record sales and the boys calling strikes/balls & outs.

Game 3 - In the night cap the Garage Pub got off to a six run lead in the first two innings. But not to be outdone the Station Coffee came within one run in the bottom of the sixth inning.  Both teams failed to score in the seventh for a Garage Pub 11-10 win over the Station Coffee.
Trent Rasch suffered the pitching loss while Dean Roy got the win. Jim Noon lead the Pub with four hits. Danny Stevenson had a single, double and a homerun while Dean Roy and Dave Hammel chipped in three hits a piece.
Grant Mackay had a homerun, while Cal Mayer, Blair Hennes and Bill Martin all had three hits for Station Coffee.

July 4:
Game 1 - The Logos Rebels and Juggies TapHouse Brewers had a very close game tonight, the Brewers prevailing 14-9. The score was tied 9-9 after 5 innings, then the Brewers scored 5 in the last 2, and the Rebels were shutout those 2 innings. Both teams had 19 hits, the difference in the game was Dieter Stanke's 2 moon shots into the middle of next week, which accounted for 5 RBI's and the winning runs. Our lead-off hitter, Pudge Bartman also had a perfect night at the plate, 3-3. For the Rebels, Todd Amman, Leon Moch and Delvin Moch were all 3-3, with Leon blasting a HR in the 3rd. Thanks to the E&H crew for looking after the show tonight, on the diamond and in the kitchen. Our condolences go out to the Lutz family, who have a big presence in our league: Kelly, Blaine & Keith. See everyone on the weekend, our first big tournament in a few years.

Game 2 - Mikes scored a 7-3 victory over the gambling boys in a tight defensive battle. Casino scored three in the first, but that would be all as pitcher Perry Nurse kept hem off  balance for the rest of the game. Randy Kambeitz’s three run shot gave the Meateors a nice cushion that would hold up. James Bonagofsky was three for three for Mikes, Tim McInnis was two for two for the Foxes.

Game 3 - The final game of the evening went down to the last out in the bottom of the seventh inning and saw Stewart Optical defeat the Redi Recyclers 8-7 in a game the was close throughout. It was a total team effort for the Eye guys as they had big contributions from a number of players.
Pickups Kelly Martin and James Bonogofsky both made big defensive plays and also chipped in with some big hits. Fred Kelln tripled to the fence and knocked in a pair, Paul Savard doubled off the fence and scored a couple runs, Paul Edmundson hit an opposite field double and added another hit and Bob Tetz picked up a couple of hits and drove in a pair. Rob Fisher turned an inning ending double play in the seventh to keep the game tied and hit a double to the fence in the final inning to move the winning run to third.
Mike Ferre had his typical big game for the Recyclers with three hits and three RBI’s while Steve Brier had two long singles and Darcy Harty picked up a pair of hits as well. Both Freddie Bohnet and Jim Larson were solid on the mound for their respective teams in this quick well played game that kept the fans entertained.

July 3:
Game 1 - A stout defense, combined with three homers, led the Morrison Mavericks to a 15 - 8 win over the Logos Rebels. Chris Wandler opened the game with an inside the park home run and followed with two doubles later on. Rick Parker tripled, singled, and homered to drive in five runs. Pierre Cote smashed a three run home run to right as part of his four RBI night. Sherwin Lehman went three for three at the plate.
The entire team contributed to the stalwart Mavericks defense allowing the Logos to score in only three innings. One was a five-run outburst though, with Leon Moch smacking a line drive homer over the left field fence to the delight of strong support by their fans.

Game 2 -  Station Coffee Long Shots started the game with hot bats and cruised to a 23-12 win over Stewart Optical. Going 4-4 for the Long Shots was Frank Bachmeier, 4-5 Grant Mackay, Bruce Stuber and Harold Enslen, 3-4 Terry Rattai and Wayne Miller, 3-5 Cal Mayer, Blair Hennes and Bill Martin.  Stewart Optical had Rob Fisher and Chris Wandler going 3-3 and Jeff Thompson 3-4. Winning pitcher Bruce Stuber and taking the loss Fred Kelln.
Game Report by Wayne Miller.

Game 3 - On a night where the right fielders got a break from the bright lights (the sun), the clouds provided a cold blanket over the diamond for the last game and the only two things that were hot were the burgers and the hotdogs, but there was still a game to play.
With the score 7-6 for the Lakers after 4 innings, you knew we were in for a Brew Ha Ha for the last 3 innings. The Lakers did finally heat up their chilled bats just in time to nickel and dime the Tap House Brewers to come away with a 13-8 victory.
Leroy Friesen went 4/4 along with Andy the school is out for another year Stroh going 3/3, followed by Kevin Sauer (Owner, Boss), Gerard Chuck Hittel and Gerry Fauth who went 3/4 to help secure the victory for the Lakers.
Blain Lutz, Jim Cooper,  Craig Smith and Brian Stonehouse all went 3/3 for the Brewers who were missing some big Malt from their lineup.
Tim Ho go gadget Johnson caught a bullet drive on second base, off the bat of Myles Mayer while Leroy Golden Glove Friesen made a fabulous catch in right field that was falling faster than a falling star to preserve the victory for the Lakers.
Thanks is to the umps and cooks for their efforts on this cool night.
