Game 2 - The Lakers were hoping it wasn’t a second rainout in as many nights because they were up against the major league E & H Astros.
On a warm/ muggy night where a few loyal fans missed the first 3 innings due to an early start and low scoring innings, the loyal fans now know they need to spend 15 less minutes on The couch watching the price is right. The score was 3 to 1 for the Lakers after 4 innings due to some great defense from both teams.
The Lakers then started hitting holes better than most professional golfers to score 5 runs in the 5th inning to seal the 9 to 5 victory.
Highlights for the E & H Astros were Kith Lutz going 3/3, Jim Fink 3/3 with 1 RBI and Mark Porter  2/3 with 2 RBI’s.
Highlights for the Sauer RV Storage Lakers were; Barry bam bam Koch went 3/4 with a HR and 4 RBI’s, Leroy OBP leader Friesen 3/3, Brian Huff Hoffner 2/3, Mr Lutz keen eye Perschon 2/3 and Farrell Bonenfant 2/3.
Not to forget the amazing left hand, long arm of the law catch by Mike Shantz on an amazing knuckleball dropping line drive hit by Kelly boom boom Lutz which would have scored 4 plus runs if the inning would continue.
Again no sunlight for the right fielders on this great Ishtar of ball.
Thanks to the umps and the concession works for a great job well done.

July 10:
Game 1 - In the first game of the evening on another beautiful night for ball Stewart Optical scored 5 in the sixth inning to turn a close game into a 9-2 victory. The sun once again played havoc with balls hit to right field and the Eye guys capitalized on a few sun balls. Darrell Bonagofsky, Paul Edmundson, Chad Stahl and Jim Stewart were all three for three for Stewart Optical and Les Zeller and Fred Kelln both picked up a couple of hits. Mike Sills, Brent Carson and Sherwin Lehman all had a couple of hits for the Mavericks but a couple of big defensive plays kept them from scoring more than two runs. Fred Kelln and Rod Insko both pitched well in this low scoring game.
