Game 2:
In a game that saw multiple lead changes, and hard hitting, it eventually just took a drive to the pitchers box to determine the final outcome of a 12 - 11 victory for the Morrison Health Mavericks over the Cross Town Red Sox. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Jim Fink's innocuous hit up the middle just past the pitchers safety net with the bases loaded brought home the winning run.

Game 2:
Station Coffee Long Shots pulled out another 9 - 5 victory over the Canadian Energy Lakers. The game was a defensive battle. The one bright spot was the 4th inning when the bats came alive for a 5 run spurt. Harold Enslen had a triple, and Jerry Wittke went 3 for 3. Defensively the outfield was solid with some tough catches being made. Late in the game though it was Wayne Miller, all the time, it was so impressive that the right fielder, Greg Martin, just stood there and watched in awe. Gerard Hittle made an amazing self defense play at 3rd on a line drive for the Lakers. Jim Dulle came in for the win. The most loyal fans ever, were cheering whole heartedly to aid in the victory.

Game 1:
Stewart Optical vs Elements
We managed to squeak out a 8-1 win over the casino boys. Freddie was awesome giving up an unearned run and getting a couple of hits. Tim ( where have you been all year ) Maginnes
played a superb game, making catch after catch in sun valley, and he was a hitting machine.
What about the Kid ( Mike Shantz): 3 for 3! We saw another side of him when he turned the jets on
to beat out an infield single.
Les Zeller made some spectacular plays at 2 and had some good hits
Klien took it very personally when the casino boys were defeated. Too many good years of employment there so he was a little shook up. Nothing a couple of pops wouldn’t fix.
Hats off to Phillip Marleau. Whether he wins or loses, he’s always smiling.
Good sportsmanship for the elements missing John Engle and picking up Rod Sommerfelt.
Thanks again to Jim and Darlene (upstairs) and the relics for running the show.

Game 2:
Stewart Optical and Trackside Liquor Store IPA's had a great fun game last night, with the Beer Drinkers outlasting the Eye Guys by a score of 14-10. Two very evenly matched teams, with each team winning one game against each other this season. Stewey's squad were missing a couple key players, but super sub Bob Marfleet stepped up and got some key hits for them. The IPA's had 4 players missing for the night, so our super subs were Blair Hennes and pitcher Jim Dulle. Blaine Lutz and Jim Stewart both hit bombs early in the game. Many thanks to Truman Bartman, our announcer in the booth, as last night was his final game for the season. He does an excellent job on the mike, and he and Darlene Black are wonderful volunteers for our league. Truman definitely has a future in the sport commentating business. All the best.
