Sept 6 - Sept 9 Scores and Hi-Lites

Sept 9:
   Game 1:
Redi Recyclers held on for a 16-14 victory over the Garage Pub. Al Martens hit a three run homer for the Recyclers, while David Camphor and Al Dyck each had two hits for Redi Recyclers.
Report Kevin Friesen
   Game 2:
The Elements took on the Elmer and Harold's squad and came away with a 16-8 win. Thanks to our many subs, we were able to field a team. Jim Larson led the way pitching and Larry Hurrell ran down multiple hits in Center field. The Elmer and Harold's squad also supplied a catcher. Good steady defense and timely hitting lead the way for the Elements. Thanks guys for a great nite of ball.

Sept 8:
   Game 1:
Stewart Optical vs Station Long Shots:
The Eye Fellows came away with a 16- 11 win over the Coffee Brewers. Station has played unbelievable, going 9 and 1 in their last 10 games!
Fred Bohnet was a thorn in their side for the Long Shots tonight, giving up about 3 or 4 earned runs. WHAT!!  I thought you said the brewers scored 11.  That was our defensive side of the game. We had one of our best offensive plus one of our worst defensive games this year and still snuck out a win.
Big hitters without an out for Stewarts were Rats and Bonagofski.  Lehman, Stewart, Zeller and Sawatsky came through with one out.
Stewart hit a line drive through the trees. Wayne Miller turned a single/double into a inside the park homerun.( Man) That guy can run.
Don’t forget to watch Medicine Hat Senior Slo-pitch Bloopers on U-Tube tonight.
Hats off to the Station fellows for a fantastic winning streak.
(Look out Bob Ridley) Darrel Maser may be the first owner to broadcast the Tiger games. I heard he  also knows how to drive a bus.
Thanks to Darrel and Gary for the upstairs’ work.  Appreciation goes to the Red Sox for umping and kitchen duties.
Report Randy Biko
   Game 2:
The Southridge Wine & Whiskey boys scored six runs in their final at bat to overcome
an early deficit of  12 - 0 and tied the Morrison Health Mavericks 19 - 19. Hitting star for the night was Jim Fink of the Mavs with eight RBI's.

Sept 7:
   Game 1:
On a warm summer night at Lorne Holden field, the Red Sox and the Rebels duked it out. It was a close contest going back and forth. When the dust had settled the Red Sox eked out a 11-9 victory.
Report Robert Marfleet
   Game 2:
E&H breaks losing skid! Wasn't easy by any stretch. E&H started off well, scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the first to lead 5-0. From there it was back and forth as the Garage Pub added 5 of their own a couple times. But in the top half of the final inning Frank Merkl made a great catch from a liner to the rover position. E&H pulled out a 16-14 squeaker. Well rounded hitting attack from E&H lineup with the exception of Dale Haas's standup triple. Jeff Hall was 3-3 at the plate including a solo dinger. E&H would like to thank Jim Noon and Darlene Black for the play by play and scorekeeping. Along with the Coffee Station group for the concession and umpiring duties!!

Sept 6:
   Game 1:
Canadian Energy Lakers beat the Elements 12-11.
The game was back and forth right until the last out. Great help in the victory was Jeff Hall and Gerry Harpel.
Report Curtis Scherger
   Game 2:
Just a super game tonight against the Redi Recyclers and Trackside Liquor Store IPA's, with the beer drinkers outlasting the beer can recyclers, 16-13. It was close all the way through, the IPA's had a 5 run lead going into the open inning, and were able to hold the hard hitting boys to 2 runs. Very good ball played by both teams, no subs tonight, both teams had 12 guys. We had some fantastic performances by many players, most notably, Jim Cooper, perfect at the plate and a fantastic catch in left field that saved the day for us in the 7th. Also, Miles Mayer was a standout offensively and also at 1st base. Blaine Lutz played a solid SS and hit a key dinger in the 5th. Bob Gardiner was his usual steady self, playing multiple positions through the night. These are two very evenly matched teams, with each team winning one game against each other this year. Rob Jensen and Jim Dulle never missed a call, the Station boys and girls were masked up in the concession, and Darlene and Stan did an excellent job in the booth. See you at the windup this weekend.
