Sept 17:
Game 1 - In the penultimate game of the 2026 season, Garage Pub and Redi squared off to determine winter bragging rights. After a season series featuring a win, loss and rain out for each team, sports books (now legal in Alberta, in case you hadn't heard) were going crazy on the over/under on this contest. While total hits were close, Redi - 12 and FOG - 15, the Foggers just seemed to find a few more holes at the right time and a couple of dingers never hurts! Final score Garage Pub 12 - Redi Recycle Rockies 3.
Royce Hopkins was 3/3 and Barry Koch, Kevin Friesen, and Larry Lutz each had 2 knocks for Redi. For the FOGgers, Dallas Deman had a big night going 3/3 with a home run and several great catches in left field. Rod Insko, Ken Longmore and Grant MacKay all collected two hits each. Dieter Stanke had the blast of the night with a massive grand salami to right center field in the second inning. Bruce Stuber and Jim Larson split pitching duties for Redi while Rod Insko was at his best for the FOG striking out six and keeping Redi's big boys in the park all night.
Great Job by Station Coffee umping and filling burger orders tonight. Also, a huge thank you to the league executive, all coaches/reps, all volunteers and 182 awesome senior ball players that make our league special every single day. We collectively have much to be thankful for and proud of! Hope to see you all back in 2027.

Game 2 - On the last game of the night/week/year with our teams for the last time before the next draft there was a great ballgame going on down at the park. In a defence gem by both squads Mikes prevailed 6-3 over Sauer Lakers. Most of the damage came in the first where the meatheads put up three to the Lakers two after that it was a defensive battle zone mostly notable the play of shortstops Dave Robertson and Huggy. Curtis, Mikes S and Trev F led the RV boys with a couple hits each, Stubby was 3/3 while Dave R, Ron P and Dallas D chipped in two apiece. Thanks to Station Boys for handling the umping and kitchen, Jim and Gary upstairs. Another great year down at LHF.

Sept 16:
Game 1 - In the last game of the season for both teams, Stewart Optical broke open a very close game by scoring 8 runs in the final open inning and held Station Coffee off the scoresheet to pull out a 21-13 win. The low setting sun made picking up the ball very difficult for all of the outfielders which contributed to the number of runs scored. Both teams had lots of hits and scored in all but one inning, but the open inning proved to be the difference for the Eye Guys to record the season ending victory. Rob Price and Byron Witkowski were both 4-4 while Jim Stewart and Roland Schlenker were 3-3 and Brian Christman was 3-4. Five other players chipped in with a couple of hits apiece.
For Station Coffee Cal Mayer, Al Martin and Wayne Miller were all 3-3 while Blair Hennes, Harold Enslen, Gregg Martin and Brian Stonehouse all had a pair of hits. Almost 94 year old Rod Sommerfeld celebrated his license renewal with a hard single up the middle to drive in a run. What an inspiration for everyone in the league.

Game 2 - Well, Juggies won our last game of the year. I guess that makes us the official league champs.... if you turn the page upside down!!! Juggies beat the Red Sox, 13-9 in a 6 inning game. It was very close after the first 4 innings, then we pulled away at the end with 6 runs the last couple innings. For the Sox, Lance Knodel and Dery Eresman both had 3 hits, Garth Stark had a couple hits, Darrell Maser had 1 and a couple long SAC flies. Juggies top performers were Kasey Valkenburg, Jim Dulle and Jim Noon, all with 3 hits. Dale Deis, Jeff Davies, Tim Mayer and Randy Biko all had 2 hits. Red Sox had 3 super subs: Lutz Perschon, Ken Kallis and Dean Roy. Juggie super subs were Randy Biko and Rick Parker. Thanks to those 5 for helping our teams out. Great work tonight by the Garage Pub guys volunteering, 3 umpires and 3 kitchen workers. And Jim and Gary in the press box. See everyone for the Sunday windup.
