Annual Hot Dog Sale 2026

The Morrison Mavericks hosted the fourth annual Dollar Dog Night on August the 10th. The fan turnout was exceptional creating parking issues around Lorne Holden Field.
Members of the Maverick crew arrived at the ballpark mid-afternoon. It was crying time for Michelle and Trevor Seitz as they peeled and sliced onions in the kitchen's inner sanctum. Hundreds of hot dogs were preheated before master griller Dale Weisgerber and his sidekick Dan Hamilton dealt with them.
Darren Heinz took his no-nonsense position at the cash box while also managing the tally book for hotdogs sold. Several Mavericks and spouses worked on the assembly line wrapping and handing out dogs to the eager customers. Others pitched in by restocking the condiment tables and beverage coolers, cleaning and helping wherever required.
Once again a new record was set as 504 hotdogs were sold. Hundreds of people submitted a guess for the final number, and Loretta Hammel was the winner. In truth there were many winners that night, even if it meant a long walk to their vehicles.
