Mesquite Tournament 2022

 
Team 60 Day 2 Report
     The Medicine Hat Huff & Puffs 60s finished the Mesquite, Nevada tournament with a  2-3 record.  
On Sunday Medicine Hat won two and lost one. In game one, the Huff & Puffs defeated the Sun City, Arizona Sidewinders 20-18. Royce Hopkins and Dave Hammel each reached base four times. Perry Nurse and Trent Rasch pitched. In game two, the Huff & Puffs gave up three runs in the seventh inning to lose a tight 15-14 decision to the Casa Grande, Arizona Road Warriors. Leon Moch had four hits. Brian Stonehouse pitched. In their final game the Huff &Puffs once again defeated Sun City 23-10. Hopkins had four hits for the Hat. Rasch took to the mound. The Huff & Puffs will now begin play at the Huntsman Senior Games in St. George, Utah with a pair of games Monday night.

Team 60 Day 1 Report
     The Medicine Hat Huff & Puffs 60's are preparing for their return to the Huntsman World Senior Games in St. George, Utah after a two year hiatus because of Covid 19. The Huff &Puffs are participating in a tournament in Mesquite, Nevada Saturday and Sunday. On opening day Saturday Medicine Hat was involved in a pair of hard fought games coming up short in both. In their opener, the Huff & Puffs dropped a 21-16 decision to the Southern California Suns. Chris Wandler, Royce Hopkins, Dave Hammel and Glen Stodolka all had three hit games. In game two Saturday, Medicine Hat led through most of the game before surrendering five runs in the seventh inning losing 18-13 to Mountain Men from Utah. Chris Wandler got on base four times while Kevin Friesen and Brian Stonehouse reached three times. Trent Reasch and Stonehouse shared the pitching duties in both contests. On Sunday, the Huff & Puff 60s will close out the round robin playing the Sun City Sidekicks and the Casa Grande, Arizona Road Warriors.

Team 65 Report
     

     The Huff and Puff 65 team were down in the Mesquite tournament as a warmup heading into the Huntsman games.
The weather was beautiful as well as hot and we played on a great facility.
The team played well, there was some great plays and some timely hitting allowing us to be more than competitive.
We ended up winning the bronze medal.
We are off to the Huntsman on Monday.
