Team 60’s games were postponed due to rain. Team 65 was able to get both games in, but went 0-2 for the day. In game 1 Emerson Davies was able to hit a out of the park home run. In game 2 he was able to hit a in the park home run. |
Tues Oct 5: |
Team 60 were able to get one game in today and won 13 – 7. Tom Corboy got an in the park home run in the winning cause. They had scheduled Mondays games to be played today at 5 and 6, but once again the weather did not co-operate and they were rained out for the second day in a row. Team 65 won their game today by a score of 21 – 8. Bob Charette had an out of the park home run in the victory. Emerson Davies kept the hot bat going as he hit a in the park Grand Slam home run. |
Wed Oct 6: |
Team 65 won both of there games to keep there momentum going. They now have a bronze metal wrapped up and will be playing for a silver or better. Emerson Davies hitting streak continues as he hit another home run today. Gord Deibert showed off his defensive skills with a double play to end the Detroit game and secure the win. Team 60 also had a great day as they won both of their games. The second game proved to be quite exciting as Team 60 fell behind 14 – 6 in the 4th inning, but were able to come back for the win. Tom Corboy had the hot bat as he hit an in the park home run in the 1st inning and then also hit one in the 7th as he scored the 13th run of the inning. Gary Friesen and Wayne Erickson all so hit in the park home runs to help Team 60 to an exciting victory. |
Thursday Oct 7 |
Team 60 only played the one game today and lost 23 to 8. Rick Seitz hit a out of the park home run in the lose. Team 65 had a terrific day as they won both of their games to capture a Gold Medal. |
