Gerard Hittel has sent in a pretournament report for Team 60:
"The 60’s Huffers with the blue uniforms head south this week to start their quest for hopefully bringing home more medals. The last couple of years have been quite lucrative for this squad so hopefully the trend continues. The team boasts 14 players from the Medicine Hat Senior Slow Pitch League. To have all players from one league is quite a testament. Most teams here in the sunny south have players from multiple different states or provinces. The 2026 roster goes something like this: Kerry Buss, Al Martens, Chad Stahl, Curtis Scherger, Delvin Moch, Grant Mackay, Kelly Martin, Kevin Lane, Barry Koch, Maurey Salmon, Tim Johnson, Royce Hopkins, Todd Kopec and Gerard Hittel. The coach and manager (Lane & Buss) have been instrumental in assembling a group that has brought back gold medals in 2 consecutive years.
The 60’s kick off with a “warmup tourney” in Mesquite Nevada starting Saturday morning (Oct. 3rd) at 8am against a team from the far north in Alaska. They’ll play 5 games there before heading a half an hour north to the popular Huntsman Senior Games in St. George, Utah. That tourney kicks off Monday afternoon Oct. 5th with a double header. Stay tuned for updates all week. Here’s to a successful week with keeping as many guys out of the ER as possible. 😊"
