Game 2 -8-6 for Stewart Optical - Defensive struggle tonight. Good defense by both teams.  Most good defensive ball players use their head in defensive positioning.  The eye guys 2nd baseman took that another step further in using his chin to knock a ball down and throw out the runner at first.  Nice play Chad!  Leading the way for Stewart Optical were Kevin Lane, Jim Stewart and Blair Bosch all going 3/3 with Darrell Bonogofsky and Delvin Moch adding to two hits each  While Don Hallberg was one at bat short of a cycle for the Red Sox. Darrell Maser had two hits as well!

Game 1 - In a game that saw 5 players for the Astro batting 1.000(Frank Merkl, Mark Porter, Kelly Lutz, Robert Jensen, Paul King) and one player for Station Coffee( Myles Mayer) the Astros prevailed 13 to 8. Game Report By Jim Black

Game 2 - The Redi Recyclers put together a 12 hit attack in defeating the Logos Rebels 10-4.      Game 3 - The Juggies TapHouse Brewers came out firing on all cylinders tonight, and beat the Copper Coulee Casino Silver Foxes, 24-10. It was a complete team effort for the Brewers tonight, as we banged out 33 hits over 5 innings, everyone hitting the ball hard. Al Martens, Blaine Lutz, Kasey Valkenburg, Daryl Bartman and Glen Ebel were all perfect at the plate. Blaine and Pudge hit dingers, and even Jamie White legged out an inside the park HR. I guess sometimes the stars align!! For the Silver Foxes, Andy Stoh, Tim Seitz, Glen Stoldolka and Jack Ward all had perfect 3 hit nights. Kerry Buss hit a large 2 RBI HR in the 1st inning. On another note, great to see one of our elder statesmen, Roger King back at the ballpark and looking good. He has been a fixture in our league for many years, so give Roger a big hug whenever you get a chance. See everyone at our windup this weekend.

Sept 4:
Game 1 - The early game took us back to the game of thrones. Instead of fog it was smoke. The White Walkers (Sauer RV Storage) against the Northerners (Mike’s Meats Meateors). The White Walkers went up 4-2 in the first, then 7-3 in the 2nd. Even though the smoke didn’t clear the White Walkers came away with a Smokey 13-6 victory over the Northerners. The white Walkers had 3 dragons that went 3/3 (Barry the beer guy Cook, Game winner Lutz Perschon & TJ) while there were 6 other White Walkers that went 2/3 (Gerry white shoes Fauth, Gerard Knuckle ball Hittel, Brian Coondog & Darrell Bonenfont. The Northerners (Mikes Meats Meateors) had Tom Baker as there dragon (3-3) with 5 other Northerners who went 2-3 (Mr Stubbs, Greg Martin, Casey Juggy Valkenberg, Jim Fink and Jeff Thompson).
The White Walkers came out on top due to having 3 dragons VS 1 dragon by the Northerners.
The Guard’s (umps) did a great job keeping the White Walkers and the Northerners united while the game was being played.
The smoke did not come from the kitchen as the burgers and hot dogs were professionally done by the experienced Red Sox staff.
If you didn’t watch the game of Thrones series, I apologize but it won’t have changed the score of the game.

Game 2 - Stewart wins 19-16 over Juggies Taphouse
Great game with serious ebbs and flows  Juggies jumped out to a 10-2 lead after 2 innings, but the Stewart Optical came back to make it 19-10 on great hitting from Paul Emundson who was 4/4 as well as Darrel Bonogofsky 4/4 with a 3 run homer our great sub Roland Schlenker was 3/3 with some good defense.  3 Hits were had by Jim Stewart including a HR as well as Chad Stahl and Jeff Thompson. Kevn Lane, Fred Kelln and Rob Fischer had 2 hits each too
Juggies threw a scare to the eye guys with a great come back n bottom of 6 getting 6 runs and with 2 out and the bases loaded and the winning run at the plate but luckily that batter went out. For Juggies  Dieter Stanke ha a great night with  2 mammoth home runs as well as a single for 3/3 Good as well by Darren Hein, Kasey Valkenburg and Garth Burton all with 3 hits  Thanks for a good and fun game!
Also thank to the umps and concession workers as well as Randy Biko and his score keeping crew.
Game Report By Jim Stewart

Game 3 - In a 5 inning game shortened by darkness, Elmer & Harold’s eked out a close 6 - 5 win. Both Jim Fink and Rod Insko pitched well tonight with the only home run coming off the bat of E & H’s Keith Lutz. E & H were caught flat footed when Norm Emann smacked a ball over the fielder’s head for a solid double to go a perfect 2/2 on the night.
