Sept 13:
Game 1 - On the final night of league play the Red Sox took on the Logos Rebels. Despite running into a triple play the Red Sox hung on to win 7-5. Many thanks to all the scorekeepers who recorded the game. Made my reporting so much easier. Many thanks again. Till next season all the best to all the teams and people involved in this league. Another great season is in the books .

The team would like to acknowledge the following players for their past two seasons of wearing the purple and black. Steve Brier, our beer guy, Rod Brusky, David Camphor, Mike Ferre, Kevin Friesen, Scott Goldade, Gerry Harpell, Darcy Harty, Daryl Hubich, Larry Hurrell, Lorne Knodel, Jim Larson and Terry Tucker. We also missed Joe Steinbacher very much this season and hope to see Joe back next season. The Recyclers would like to thank our better halves for everything they do and especially Margaret Brusky. Redi also thanks Randy Biko and his crew every night in the booth. A big thanks to Rick Parker, Norm Emann and their volunteer crew that worked every day to get the field ready. Game 2 Report - It might have been the season finale in the ’23 campaign but at 26 deg on the field and even hotter in the Lakers dugout it felt more like a midseason game in July. The Lakers were coming off a hard fought loss last week under interim coach Jerry White Shoes. The “regular coaches” were on road trips looking at different cities as rumor has it after the Lakers record in 2023 they may be off to a new squad. That’s for the owners to decide. As for tonight’s game, it started the same for the RV boys, down 3 after just a half an inning. By some luck from above they answered the bell in the bottom of one and scored a field goal of their own on 2 singles a double and a “senior triple”. The Redi boys never batted an eyelash, instead they batted out 6 hits of their own to put up a 4 spot making it 7-3 Recyclers. The Lakers chipped away in the next 2 innings getting it to 7-5 then in the last inning scored 3 big runs to go up by 1, their first lead of the night. The Redi squad felt confident in the last inning being only down by 1 knowing full well they had their meat of the order coming up and knowing the Lakers had already blown no less than 6 games in the bottom of 7 all year. But on this beautiful night at Lorne Holden as the fans were waiting for maybe another last inning collapse the Sauer RV Storage gang tightened their chin straps and got 3 quick outs, a quick ground out, a fly out and a strike out to end the ball game.
Make the final: Sauer RV Storage Lakers 8 Redi Recyclers 7.
A nail biter to finish off another stellar year in a league with 12 teams, 165 pro athletes and countless volunteer hours. Thanks to everyone from the players to the umpires to the burger flippers to the scorekeepers for making this THE best senior Slowpitch league in the world. Be proud of what you have built and look forward to an even better 2024 season.

Sept 12:
Game 1 - The Juggies TapHouse Brewers capped off our season with a 19-3 win over the Mike's Meats Meateors. We had another great offensive game, banging out 26 hits, with multiple HR's, Blaine Lutz with 2, both Dieter Stanke and Kasey Valkenburg with 1. Our defense was also superb, the OF making many super catches to stymie the Meateors hard hits. Thanks to Lutz Perchon and Dale Haas volunteering as umpires tonight. Our team, the Brewers have had a great year, on and off the field. A super bunch of guys that came to play every game. We have only needed about 5 subs all year, and had tons of fun. We would like to thank Jim Black (congratulations on your life membership) and his executive team for keeping things running smoothly and making our league the best in the country. To have this level of an organization that we all enjoy, each and every one of us has to contribute in order to make it successful. Volunteering makes it work. Take care everyone and see you next spring. Oh Ya, and many thanks to Rob Kayfish for keeping our website up-to-date and very informative.

Game 2 - Final game of the evening. Garage Pub 17 – Copper Coulee Silver Foxes 7

For the Pub Jim Noon, Gord Deibert and Dave Hammel had four hits a piece, while Larry Biko, Danny Stevenson and Brian Christmann had three hits each. Todd Kopec had two hits and a grand slam.
