Long relief specialist Randy Biko was solid on the mound and snagged a solid line drive up the middle that only a 6’5” guy catches.
Delvin Moch picked up a couple of hits for the Mavericks while Larry Hurrell added a triple and Kerry Schentag chipped in with a double. Darcy Harty played a solid game at third and turned a big double play to save a couple of runs. Turned out to be another beautiful evening at the park. Game 2 - After establishing a 9 - 3 lead the Garage Pub Fog fell behind but righted themselves late in the game to post a 14 - 10 victory over the Cross Town Red Sox. Kerry Buss and the rookie, Dan Hein, smacked over the fence homers - the very first ones for the Pub all season. The Red Sox sponsor, Boyd Hamm, also drilled a two run shot. Fred Bohnet, the wily veteran, smashed a single to left and walked in three trips to the plate.

Game 1 - The first game on Tuesday, August 27, had the Logos Rebels hosting the Cross Town Red Sox. In the Red Sox last 5 wins they were all come from behind victories …NOT TONIGHT!! The “cardiac kids” were replaced by “The Mountain Men” ! They were “rock solid” offensively and defensively, there were no “cliff hangers” tonight. A never in doubt 18-6 “W” for the Sox. Stellar performances for the Rebels included Ken Wou 3/4, Pudge Bartman 3/3, and Fred Kellen 2/3. For the Red Sox it was practically the entire team! Special mention does have to be shouted from the “mountain top” for Boyd Hamm 3/4 (3 doubles), Todd “keen eye” Kopec 2/2 with 2 walks, Lorne Knodel 3/3, and the dynamic duo of Bill Lapshinoff and Tom Rieger who together combined for 5 hits in 7 trips to the plate. Defensive gold star is given to Todd “hoover” Kopec. Thanks to the Astros for looking after the culinary duties and umping.

Game 2 - The humidity on this night was much higher than the score of the game. The pitching duel between Gerard nibble a bit Hittel VS Rod head can crusher Insko was the reason for the low scoring game. 7 pitches thrown in the first inning was a sign that the game would be of a low scoring game, in which the Sauer RV Storage Lakers slowed down the Morrison Wild Horse Mavericks from a steady run to a gallop, to come away with a 5-3 Victory. Highlights for the Morrison Mavericks was a 3-3 night for Leeeon Hard hitting Moch, a 2-3 night for Kerry i’ll get you one way or another Schentag and and a 2-3 night for John I’ll see you latter Unreiner. RBI’s for the Wild Horse Mavericks were Gart Casey at the bat Stark with a HR, Trevor White shoes Fauth with a so so RBI and to finish off the 3rd RBI was no other than, Rod I’m not sure where it went Insko. Let’s not forget a great defensive play from Leeeon quick McGraw Moch with an over the head catch playing second base that turned into a double play.
Highlights for the Sauer RV Storage Lakers was a 3-3 night with 3 RBI’s for welcome back Mr Barry Holiday Koch with 3 RBI’s, Keith Clint Kleckner 2-3 who hit a sizzling line drive to 3rd, which fooled the 3rd baseman and Clint himself to get 1 RBI, while the 5th RBI belonged to Darrell now you have me, now you don’t Maser. The Sauer RV Storage Lakers also had a couple of great defensive plays to keep the low scoring game in tact due to a fine ice cream scoop by Walter shut the door Pratt off a line drive by Garth catch me if you can Stark. The second great defensive play came from a diving catch by Kevin Bossman Silent Night Sauer. Thanks to the fans, Umps, Score Keeper, announcer and cooks who kept the score low due to the smell of the burgers and the Wasps.
