May 27 - May 30 Schedule and Results

No Games Played Due To Weather

May 29:
Game 1 - The first game tonight was a battle between 2 hard hitting teams (well, most of the time, but not always), and Juggies TapHouse Brewers prevailed tonight over E&H Astros, 13-7. The Lutz brothers participated in a home run derby, and all 3 of them didn't disappoint. Kelly, Keith had 2 run dingers and Blaine's was good for 3 RBI's. Dieter Stanke for the Brewers also participated, but his was a "in-the-park" variety, and when he gets wounds up, don't get in his way. He's like a running back when he hits his stride. The Astros actually out-hit the Brewers, 15-13, but they left more men on base than we did. It's not very common when a team gets 13 runs with only 13 hits. Kasey Valkenburg was 3-3 for Juggies, as was Jim Cooper for E&H. A good, fun game, nice to see "Big" Al Dyck back on the field after a year off and some recent medical issues. Thanks to the Redi boys for working tonight.

Game 2 - The 2nd game of the night featured the "AAA" undefeated meat squad, Mike's Meats, against the Sauer RV Storage Lakers. The Meateors were coming off a close one run victory Monday night against the "Eye Guys" while the Lakers were still licking their wounds from a 2 run loss to the newly improved Logos Rebels. Although the Lakers were without "Jeter Scherger" who is out dodging icebergs in the Pacific on the way to Alaska, they found a way to dig deep and come up with a defensive gem that stymied the meat boys all night. Big catches by "Warning Track Maser", "Clint Kleckner", and the pride of Dorintosh, "Coondog" kept the Meateors from scoring in critical situations. The Meateors were paced by great plate appearances from Darrell Bonogofky who was 3/3, Paul King 2/3, and Ron "Stubby" Stubbs who was not only 2/3 but made a circus catch in left center to keep the game in reach. The Storage Squad banged out 22 hits en route to the 11-5 victory. Wally Pratt was perfect on the night going 3 for 3, "Darren Heinz 57"  3 for 4 and Lutz "Base Running " Perschon 2 for 3. 'Beer Guy Kochy" also had a monster night with a first inning dinger then added 2 more singles as the game progressed. Next action for the Lakers is Monday night against the Redi Recycle Rockies. Game time 5:30.

Game 3 - In the final game of the night on a cool and windy evening the Copper Coulee Casino Silver Foxes defeated the Garage Pub by a score of 16-11. The Silver Foxes banged out 20 hits by the 5th and took a 15-6 lead. Not to be outdone the Pub fought back with 10 hits of their own and made it a 16-10 score with their last bats coming up. They made it very interesting squeezing 1 run across and the final out coming with the bases loaded. Leading the way for the Foxes were Randy Kambeitz /Glen Stodolka both with 3 run homers/Sam Montoya/Boyd Kosolofski/Randy Wuerfel/Wade Watson/Steve Kakuk/all 3-4/Jim Phillips2-3/double/Doug Roberts/Frank Bachmier2-3.For the Pub Kerry Buss3-3/double/Andy Stroh2-3/triple/Mike Ferre 3-3.Special shout out to Norm Emann who made 3 great catches and also went 2-3.Ken Kallis/Dan Hein 2-3. Randy Wuerfel was the winning pitcher while Jim Dulle took the loss.

Game 1 - Finally we had a beautiful night to play baseball. The Garage Pub were challenging the Cross Town Red Sox. At the end of 6 ½ innings the Red Sox prevailed 11-9. Now fellow readers for the really good stuff!! The Pub were led by the following...Mike Ferre 3 for 3, Andy Stroh 2 for 3 including a 2 run home run, Kerry Buss, Mark Porter, Brent Carson, Tim Seitz, Ken Kallis, Dan Hein who all were 2 for 3.  For the Red Sox...On a night where 100% of the time Todd (Hit it on a rope) Kopec's 2 three run home runs would have been the main headline (even his dog Murphy was doing celebration pacing) it was unfortunately overshadowed by Brian (high heat) Stonehouse collecting the win and becoming the winningest pitcher in Red Sox history ...(insert tongue in cheek). Brian being the humble person he is did not want this to be known. Other leaders for the Red Sox were...Lorne Knodel, Derry Eresman, Boyd Hamm, Leroy Friesen, Glen Ebel, Larry Hurrel, Brian Stonehouse all going 2 for 3 at the plate.  Until the next Red Sox victory!!

For the Logo’s Larry Rudolph, Dave Camphor & Ken Wou all went 2 for 3.
To the delight of the fans there were some great defensive plays made throughout the game.
Rod Insko took on the pitching duties for the Maverick’s and Fred Kelln was on the mound for the Logo’s.
Thanks to all the volunteers for providing another great evening for ball at Lorne Holden field.

Game 2 - The second game of the night was another defensive gem as Mikes Meat Meteors held on for a 5-4 victory over Stewart Optical . The eye guys were held to one run until two out in the seventh when they erupted for 3 runs on 4 consecutive doubles. In the bottom of the seventh Darrel Bonagofsky started the rally with a lead off double and came across with the winning run on a bloop single from hit man Haas. John Engel and Kevin Lane had the only multiple hit games for Stewart, while Weisgerber, Martin,Hopkins and Bonagofsky did the same for Mikes. Thanks to Elmer and Harold’s for great umpiring and kitchen duty.

Game 3 - Last game of the night was a back and forth affair between the Logos Rebels and Sauer RV Storage Lakers. The Lakers started off with 2 in the bottom half of the first and added 1 more in the second. The Rebels replied with 3 in their top half of the second. 3-3 after 2 complete. After 5 complete the Rebels took the lead 12-10 and stayed that way for the remainder of the game.
Gerard Hittel lead the offense for the Lakers with a 3 run dinger and 2 singles, along with great defensive plays at 3rd. Walter Pratt Also made a great grab in right field. For the Rebels at the plate it was Danny Stevenson and Mike Sills going 3 for 3. Fantastic catches by Roland Schlenker, Chris Wandler and a diving grab by Danny Stevenson who then flipped it to second base for the final out. Thanks to E&H Boys with the kitchen and umpire duties. Along with Darlene & Stan for the score keeping and announcing.
