-Game Two
A tight defense led the Morrison Mavericks to a 16 to 3 victory over Elmer and Harold's squad in the middle game at Lorne Holden Field.  Vern "Hitman" Herter starred for the Mavs going three for three at the plate (a double and two singles) while scoring twice. In addition Herter pitched three stellar innings of middle relief and held E&H to a solitary run. Chris "Happy" Wandler also went three for three batting plus excelling defensively in the outfield. Since home run hitters generally get the ink I must mention that the fleet footed Wandler punched out an inside the park homer. Gerry "Too Tall" Tessman crossed home plate three times as well.

-Game Three
The final game of the evening was close until the bottom of the 6th when Stewart Optical scored 5 and then they hung on in the open inning to defeat the Canadian Energy Lakers 14-8. Jim Stewart hit a couple more monster shots for the winners and Kevin Lane chipped in with one. Barry Koch and Gerard Hittel both hit long balls for the Lakers. Les Zeller and Blair Bosch both had strong nights at the plate for Stewart Optical while Chad Stahl and Kevin Lane each made a couple of big defensive plays. Leroy Friesen had a couple of big hits for the Lakers. It was a great game with timely hits and some good defense by both teams.
Another beautiful night at the ballpark, it was great to see so many people out enjoying the best ballpark in the province. Thanks again to everyone out volunteering.

-Game Three
An excellent game for the finale tonight with Trackside IPA's and the Station Coffee Longshots playing to a 9-9 draw. Very good defense played on both sides, very few miscues on either team, Blaine Lutz was a vacuum at SS, and great pitching performances by Brian Stonehouse and Trent Rasch. A couple home runs, both by Trackside, Kasey Valkenburg (his first of the year) and Al Martens, who hit a 9 iron over the fence. Score was 9-8 for Station going into the 7th, IPA's scored 1 run to tie the game with a huge RBI single by Dale Wood with the bases loaded. The Longshots failed to score a run in the bottom of the 7th. Great game, lots of fun, fitting end result.

Some timely hitting by Walter Pratt, Kevin Sauer, Leroy Friesen and Trevor Fauth. Brian Cooney made a spectacular play at second base to rob a double from the Recyclers. 1st star of the game was Gerard Hittel who pitched his first game in the serious but funny league.
