Game 2 - A tight 2-2 ballgame in the fifth inning turned into a 12-11 nail biter for Stewart Optical in their game against Juggies TapHouse Brewers. The Eye Guys scored 5 in the 5th and 7th innings and took to the field in the bottom of the seventh inning holding a 12-4 lead and then the floodgates opened. A combination of hard hit balls and not so hard hit ones that found the grass allowed the Brewers to claw back and they had a runner on third when the final out was recorded on a close play at first. Once again it was the big bats of Darrell Bonagofsky, with a pair of home runs, Kevin Lane with a grand slam and Jim Stewart with a line drive single that dented the fence, that led the way for Stewart Optical. Darryl Bartman with four hits and Dieter Stenke with three hits including a long home run led the Brewers offence. A low scoring defensive struggle turned into an exciting high scoring game that could have gone either way.

Game 3 - Dan Rattai and  Randy Kambeitz went long and the rest of the Meateors had great nights as they downed the recyclers 20-9. Dave Wong and Greg Martin had perfect nights at the plate. Larry Hurrell had three hits for the recyclers.

June 20:
Game 1 - On another breezy night at the ballpark, the Red Sox took on the Garage Pub. Getting off to an early lead, then falling behind slightly, the Red Sox exploded for 11 unanswered runs to win 13-5. Led by Royce Hopkins 2 home runs and Don Hallberg inside the park home run, the Red Sox kept their winning streak alive.
Game Report By Bob Marfleet

Game 2 - In a game that saw a lot of gaps hit and gloves missed, Norm Emann and Kent Strudwick went 3/3 for the Mavs, matched by the Astros Robert Jensen and Kelly Lutz. The offensive highlights of the night occurred in the 6th inning with Dave Hammel hitting a 3 run homer for the Mav and Keith Kleckner turning a sure double into a triple with a Kevin Pillar slide into 3rd base. Thanks goes out to the Coffee guys for duties done in the concession and on the diamond.

June 19:
Game 1 - The Juggies TapHouse Brewers defeated the Copper Coule Casino Silver Foxes in the first game tonight, 19-11. It was actually a much closer game than the score indicated, tied 10-10 after 5 innings and both teams playing & hitting real well. The Brewers erupted for 9 runs the last 2 innings and the Silver Foxes were held to 1 run. Everyone on our team had at least 2 hits, with the bottom of our order really coming through: Dale Wood, Hugh English (his cameo performance for this year) and Dieter Stanke getting key hits. Dieter had 2 HR's and multiple RBI's. Blaine Lutz also hit a 2 RBI HR, Garth Burton and Darren Heinz both had 3 hit nights. The Foxes had some great offensive performances as well: Andy Stroh, 3 hits with a HR, Glen Stodolka, 4 hits with a HR and Tim Seitz was 4-4 with a triple. . One of the subs, Doug Roberts was 3-3 as well. A very windy night but the outfielders on both teams played very good, considering the conditions.
Game Report By Jamie White

Game 2 - Once again the Red Sox fell behind early to the Stewart Optical. Falling behind 7-2 after 4 innings but led by Jack Simons 3 run homer they stormed back to a 10-7 victory. Clutch hitting and some good defensive plays helped preserve the victory. Kevin Lane hit a solo home run for the Optical.
Game Report By Bob Marfleet

Game 3 - The Lakers were riding a 3 game losing streak and were looking for anything to get back on track. Fortunately for them they were up against a depleted roster in the Meateors but in sports there are no guarantees. Ask the Yankees lately 😊 The Lakers were also missing “Superman Scherger” which was a big hole but “Batman Blaine” filled in admirably tonight going 3/3 and tracking down ground balls like he owned them. The game started out slow but the Lakers progressively got better as the night went on. The  “flip flop” was initiated late which is never a good sign for the home team. Final score Lakers 18 Mikes Meats Meateors 8. Hittel led the Lakers on offense going 3 for 4 with a home run, triple, and a single. He also committed 3 errors at 3rd so the net plus/minus was zero. Tim Johnson, Trevor Fauth, and Walter Pratt were also 3 for 4 at the plate with Fauth and Pratt making stellar catches in the outfield to stymie Meateor rallies. Johnson buffaloed the Meat boys at the plate with the “low round cutter’ that they couldn’t reach. “Round” is never a good cut.  Doc Hall and Rats Rattai tried to keep the Meateors in the game going 3 for 4. It just wasn’t enough on this beautiful night in Kin Coulee. Thanks to the great umping and relentless burger flipping by the Station Coffee boys. And who can forget the professionalism of our Black PA announcer that kept everyone informed. Thx Jim. Next action for the Lakers is Thursday night at 6:30. Grab a friend, grab a burger and grab a seat for some great “Old Person Ball”.
