League Notices 2025

July 24: League Note
Clarification on the infield fly rule, with emphasis that the ball can be caught by an infielder with ordinary effort.
  • When the rule is in effect, if a fair fly ball is in play, and in the umpire's judgment is catchable by an infielder with ordinary effort, the umpire shall call "infield fly" (or more often, "infield fly, batter's out" or "infield fly if fair" when there is a chance of the ball drifting foul). The batter will be out regardless of whether the ball is actually caught. Umpires typically raise the right arm straight up, index finger pointing up and call to signal the rule is in effect.

Below is an important notice from the league about subs.
  • Due to the amount of inconsistency and misunderstanding with sub usage, the executive has decided, as of July 1st, we will be starting over with the record keeping of sub usage and we will be including a penalty for not following the sub rules.
  • Starting on July 1st, if a sub is needed, the team will first pick an “A”, then next a “B” and then next a “C”.  After the team has picked a “C” you will start over with “A”, then “B”, then “C” etc.  There will be no exceptions to the order.
  • The penalty for not following sub usage in the correct order of “A”, then “B” and then “C” will be loss of your “A” sub pick for the rest of the season.
  • This season, if players have already subbed, their subbing still counts towards their maximum of two times per year. That will not change. Any player violating this rule will be subject to an automatic three game suspension.
June 27:
     League Notice about umpires:
  • To all who are umpiring, please wear a high visibility vest. Wearing this vest identifies you as an umpire while on the field and not a subbed in player.

A league History Link is now available in the above tabs to an article written by Rod Sommerfeld.
This is an outstanding article that takes the reader back to the very beginning of the league.  You can also use the link below to access the page.
