Game 1 - The Juggies TapHouse Brewers came out hitting tonight, and defeated the home team, Station Coffee Longshots, 22-5. It was basically a night where we could do no wrong, and the Longshots couldn't get anything to fall in, with our outfielders making some great plays. The Brewers banged out 32 hits on the night, with everyone on the team pretty much getting 3 or 4 hits. Like they said after the game, some nights you're the windshield and some nights you're the bug. We had 2 super-subs tonight, Jim Noon and Gord Moore, both contributing 3 hits each. Thanks guys. The Longshots also had one sub, Jim Dulle, who was perfect at the plate, going 3-3 with one double. Thanks to the Recyclers for their work tonight, and the crew in the press box. Have a good weekend.

Game 3 - On the strength of three five-run innings the Morrison Mavericks tally-hoed the Copper Coulee Casino Silver Foxes by a 16 to 12 score.

The Fox pitching tandem of Sam Montoya and Randy Wuerfel kept Rick Parker in the park but he still scored three times by hitting two doubles and a single along with a free pass.
Tim McInnes and Andy Stroh went three for four at the plate for the skulk of foxes.

Game 1 - Three Rick Parker dingers weren’t enough to hold off the hot bats of a the Meateors as they prevailed 16-9. Jeff Hall went yard for the Meateors and Haaser smacked a couple over the heads of the bewildered Maverick fielders. Cold beer and Mikes meats deli treats awaited our victors, so thanks to our sponsor and Kelly for arranging.

Game 2 - The Copper Coulee Casino Silver Foxes scored 10 runs in the last two innings and had the bases loaded with two out in their last at bat, but Stewart Optical hung on for a tense 15-14 win. Jack Simons, Fred Kelln, Jim Stewart, Chad Stahl and Jeff Thompson all had three hits for the Eye Guys but it was their defense in the early innings that made the difference. Jim Stewart made some great defensive plays to help keep the Silver Foxes at bay in the early innings. Jake Thomas, Jack Ward, Tim McInnes and John Engel all had three hits for the Silver Foxes and just one more hit would have helped them pull off another last inning comeback.

Game 3 - What can only be described as a knuckle biter the Logos Rebels slipped by Station Coffee in the bottom of the 7th by a 12-11 score. Station was able to score 5 in the top of 7, but Logos found a way to score 2 in the bottom of the inning for the win. Led by 3 for 3 nights by Leon Moch and Doug Davies the Rebels were able to squeak their second win of the season. Unfortunately with the late finish we were unable to get the game sheet for Station Coffee so apologies to those that had big nights at the plate. Garth Stark had a grand slam for Logos and John Engel had 2 dingers for Station Coffee. Great pitching from both teams, Bruce Stuber for Station Coffee and Perry Nurse for Logos.

Game 1 - On a warm muggy night the Lakers came in sweating bullets coming off a looooong losing streak. Weather it was the fear of being traded or the fear of not getting offered a “Fresh Busch......... light” after the game, the boys came out swinging. In the top of the opening inning, Boom Boom Barry Koch hit his first of 4 dingers on the night. The RV Storage squad continued to put up 5 in the 1st, 4 in the 2nd and 5 more in the 3rd. The Garage FOG just couldn’t get their bats going, only scoring 1 run in each of the first 5 innings. They did however manage to trim the outfield trees twice with Danny Stevenson and Todd Kopec both going deep. That was a hard match though for Kochy’s 4 round trippers for a total of 12 rbi. The Sauer RV Storage Lakers were also paced by Trevor Fauth going 3/3, Lutz Perschon 3/3, Kev Sauer 3/3 and Bones (Jeter) Lutz going 3/3 with numerous outstanding stabs at shortstop. The “CoonDog” also played 2nd base like it was his contract year. Even with the multitude of hits and all the great defensive plays, the real star of the game came from the losing squad. 91 year old Roddy Sommerfeld reached base 3 times on 3 sharply hit balls. Most of us are more worried about who is going to change our diaper at that age but his main concern was why the guys behind him couldn’t drive him in to score some much need runs that the Garage required. Thanks also to the Meators running the kitchen, the great call from the PA booth upstairs (Randy & Darlene) and the umpires. Jim was “Steady Eddy” on the base paths and Kelly Martin wins home plate ump of the year for the great energy. He may have to put a clinic on next year on how to ump behind the plate.

Game 2 - Three players for the Astros batted 1.000 tonight, accounting for 10 of the 14 runs scored. Jim Fink, Robert Jensen and Kelly Lutz. On the Logos side of the diamond,Howard Snodgrass went 3/3 with 3 RBI's. Delvin Moch went 3/3 and Larry Rudolph went 3/4 with 2 RBI's. Defensively, Leon Moch made a great, run saving, snow cone catch in the 4th inning. Keith Kleckner made two outstanding catches for the Astros although at the time of this writing, it is still being debated whether or not his landings rate higher than 6 out of 10. Norm "The Cat" Emann ended the Logos chance of a comeback with a remarkable catch on a foul tip to end the game.
