Game 2 - The last game of the evening saw the Logo’s Rebels take on the Morrison Health Maverick’s. The combined 45 hit performance and strong defensive play on Todd Ammann was definitely a crowd pleaser that had the Mavericks coming out on top with a 15 - 10 victory.
Offensively for the Mavericks Trevor Fauth, Jeff Hall, Bill Martin, Rod Insko and Kevin Lane each had 3 hits and Kevin had a 2 run dinger in the bottom of the 5th inning.
For the Logo’s Ron Jarvis had a 4 hit performance with 2 doubles and a triple. Roland Schlenker & Danny Stevenson both had 3 hits. Rod Insko was on the mound for the Mavericks while Darryl Bartman took on the pitch duties for the Rebels.
After the game both teams gathered around the fire pit for a great night of fellowship and food. A big thanks goes out to the Logo’s for initiating this event. Thanks again to all the volunteers for providing one last great evening for ball at Lorne Holden Field.

Sept 3:
Game 1 - On this night the Cross Town Red Sox played the Mikes Meateors and the score didn’t matter. We were honoring the memory of Ken Bachmeier and the fact that we were playing ball at all was what was important. Without selfless people like Ken we wouldn’t have this great league we have, so this night was all about gratitude for Ken and the many others that help maintain the high standards our league is known for. With respect to the game another well played affair where Tim Johnson’s inside the park homer broke open a tight contest, MM 14-Crosstown 7

Game 2 - The 6:30 game tonight was a doozie, 2 very evenly matched teams, with Juggies TapHouse Brewers squeaking out a 16-12 victory over the Sauer RV Storage Lakers. It was all very even throughout 6 innings, with the Lakers going ahead, 10-8 in the bottom of the 5th. Barry "Boom-Boom" Koch hit a grand slam to top off that inning. Kochy had 7 RBI's in the game, a great display of solid at bats all night. However, after the Brewers were held scoreless in the top of the 6th, and the Lakers got 2 more. The Brewers erupted for 8 runs in the top of the 7th to go ahead 16-12. Blaine Lutz's large grand slam led the way. No lead is safe against these guys, but we were lucky to allow 0 runs in the bottom of the 7th, for a hard fought victory. Great game, 22-20 hits, great defense on both sides. Outfielders on both sides were outstanding. Besides Barry Koch, Gerard Hittel had 3 hits, Darren Heinz, Keith Kleckner, Walter Pratt and Ken Zollner had 2 hits for the Lakers. The Brewers had some hot bats as well, besides Blaine's 4 hits: Kasey Valkenburg and Dieter both had 3 hits, an inside the park homer for Dieter. Dale Deis, Jack Simons, Dave Sawatsky, Pierre Cote and Glenn Kessler all had 2 hits. Thanks to the Copper Coulee crew for their fine work tonight, and Beek and Darlene in the press box.
