June 13:
Game 1 - Stewart Optical scored runs in every other inning and came up with a number of big defensive plays and hung on for a 10-6 win over the Elmer & Harold’s Astros. Kevin Lane, Dan Rattai, Tom Baker and Randy Biko were all a perfect 3-3 and Russ Cameron, Dave Wong and Ron Pisoni all added two hits to lead the way. There were a number of great defensive plays but none were bigger than the game ending fly ball that Greg Scott ran down in the right field gap and turned into a double play. Veterans Tom Baker and Randy Biko split the pitching duties for the eye guys.
For the Astros Keith and Kelly Lutz, Jim Cooper and Darrell Jesse each had a couple of hits but they left a few too many men on base to pull out the win.
Once again it was a perfect evening for ball and the burgers smelled as good as ever.

Game 2 - In a see saw affair the Meateors prevailed 14-10. The Redsox put up a five spot in the bottom of the first hi-lighted by Boyd Hamms three run smash, for a 5-2 lead. Mikes tied it in the third, took the lead in the fourth only to lose it in the bottom of the inning. The meat boys pushed across seven more runs in the sixth/seventh to hang on. Great game to watch. Royce Hopkins lead the Meateors with a pair of doubles and a single. Derry Eresman was 3 for 3 for the Sox.

June 12:
Game 1 - For the first game tonight we had the Sauer RV Lakers taking on the Cross Town Red Sox. The first 3 innings was a very tight defensive battle with the Red Sox holding a commanding 1-0 lead. All that changed with one swing of the bat from Curtis (sweet swing) Scherger and the Red Sox found themselves down 5-1. Cue the comeback as a result of some great defensive plays, clutch hitting and well timed homers from Boyd Hamm (2) and Todd Kopec (1) with the final score of 12-5 in favor of the Red Sox. Boyd Hamm was the winning pitcher. Side note…Boyd now is only a measly 300 wins shy of becoming the all time winning-est pitcher in Red Sox history.

Game 2 - Elmer & Harold’s Astros pulled out a 12 - 6 win over Redi Recyler Rockies.
For the Astros, Keith Lutz, Perry Nurse and Bill Ramage were 3/3 with Keith hitting the only home run in the game. Gord Deibert was sharp defensively putting out 3 Rockies hitters one inning on line shots with the sun in his eyes.
For the Rockies, Rod Groves and Kevin Friesen were 2/2 with a walk.
A big thanks to the announcer, scorekeeper, umps and kitchen crew.

The Brewers started out hot, scoring 8 runs in the first 2 innings, and never looked back. For the Mavs, Delvin Moch & Jeff Hall had 3 hits each, Todd Ammann, Kerry Schentag and sub, Rick Parker all had 2 hits each. The Mavs were missing their 2 big guns, Pres Dave Hammel (wishing you a speedy recovery), and Garth Stark. Thanks to the Casino boys for their hard work tonight.

June 11:
Game 1 - The first game of the night was a doozie, with the Juggies TapHouse Brewers hanging on by their fingernails to beat Sauer RV Storage Lakers by a score of 17-14. Both teams hit the ball hard, the Lakers had 23 hits, compared to the Brewers 22. The Lakers were missing their coach and manager, Curtis and Gerard, so those are 2 big bats that could have made a big difference. Nevertheless, the Laker boys battled hard all night with some excellent offensive performances. Darren Heinz and Brian Cooney were both 4-4, Darrell Maser, Keith Kleckner and interim coach, Barry Koch were all 3-4, Kochy with a 3 run dinger in the 7th. For the Brewers, Jack Simons was 4-4, Todd Toews, Blaine Lutz, Dieter Stanke and Kasey Valkenburg were all 3-4. Blaine & Dieter both had HR's, that accounted for 5 RBI's. Great game, good fun. Thanks to Darlene & Randy in the press box, and the Red Sox for running the show.

It took until the top half of the 3rd inning before Rebels got on the scoreboard. They scored 5 and added 5 more in the fourth to hold onto a 13-7 triumph. For the Pub Mike Ferre had 2 singles and double, with Andy Stroh following up with 3 singles. The Rebels Gazelle Chris Wandler led off with a double and added a pair of singles. Game 2 - The Copper Coulee Casino Silver Foxes were the beneficiaries of one less mistake, one more good catch or one more bloop hit that dropped in (not sure which one it was) in their victory 10-9 over the Redi Recyclers. Sam Montoya had the win on the mound for the Foxes while Larry Biko took the loss. Once again, Randy Kambeitz led the way for the Foxes at the plate with two singles and a home run for 4 RBIs. Wade Watson was 2 for 2 with two swinging bunts that discombobulated the Redi defence. Rick Parker led the way for Redi with two singles, a double and 4 RBIs.

Randy Biko led the eye guys offensively with three hits and John Engel, Kevin Lane, Tom Baker, Bruce Stuber and Russ Cameron all added a pair of hits. The Eye Guys defence came up with a number of big plays and held the Mavericks scoreless for the first five innings. Tim Mayer, Kerry Schentag and Darcy Harry all had a couple of hits for the Mavericks while Jeff Hall added a two run home run as the Mavericks came up just a little short in the last inning.
